Broadview Credit Union (Unit Deposit Account)
The Broadview Credit Union account is the pack’s primary bank account. Key points:
- All major disbursements are made by check from this account
- Account requires two authorized signatories: any two of (Cubmaster, Committee Chair, Secretary, Treasurer)
- The Committee Chair approves bills before payment
- Monthly reconciliation is done in QuickBooks Online

PayPal
PayPal is used for some online payment collection and vendor payments. Key considerations:
- 2022 IRS rule: PayPal (and Venmo) must report transactions exceeding $600/year to the IRS
- Per BSA guidance (2022 memo), keep Scout account transactions separate from general pack funds

New York Sales Tax Exemption
Pack 232 is exempt from New York State sales tax on purchases made for the pack. The Treasurer maintains the tax-exempt certificate and ensures leaders use it for pack purchases. Contact the Treasurer before making any significant purchase to get the exemption certificate.
Monthly Reconciliation
Each month before the committee meeting:
- Download statements from Broadview, PayPal, and other accounts
- Reconcile all transactions in QuickBooks Online
- Prepare the monthly financial report for the committee
