Role Summary
The Pinewood Derby Coordinator plans and executes Pack 232’s annual Pinewood Derby — one of the most popular and well-attended events of the Cub Scout year. This includes venue logistics, race track setup, registration, race management, and awards.

Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate the annual Pinewood Derby event from planning through execution
- Secure the venue (typically Glenmont Elementary gym) and confirm the date
- Arrange for the race track: setup, testing, and takedown
- Manage car registration and weigh-in process
- Recruit volunteers for race day roles (judges, registration, track managers)
- Coordinate with the Advancement Chair on trophies/awards
- Communicate event details to families: date, rules, car specs, schedule
- Ensure BSA Pinewood Derby rules are followed
- Coordinate press coverage with the Public Relations Coordinator
