Overview
Pack 232 holds its monthly pack meetings and stores some pack property at Glenmont Elementary School, which is managed through our charter organization, Glenmont Elementary PTA. The Committee Chair is responsible for securing meeting facilities and coordinating with the school.
Glenmont Elementary Space Requests
To use school facilities (cafeteria, gym), the Committee Chair must submit a space request form to Glenmont Elementary. This should be done:
- At the start of each Scouting year (September) for recurring monthly pack meetings
- In advance for any special events (Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold, etc.)
Key spaces used by the pack:
- Cafeteria — Monthly pack meetings (primary space)
- Gym — Pinewood Derby, larger events
Coordinating with PTA: As the pack’s charter organization is the PTA, the Committee Chair should maintain a positive relationship with PTA leadership to ensure continued facility access and charter renewal support.
Pack Property Storage
Pack property (track for Pinewood Derby, camping gear, etc.) is stored as needed. The Committee Chair, with the Cubmaster, arranges for year-round storage of the pack’s Pinewood Derby track and other large items.
Current storage: (Document where pack property is stored — update as needed)
Other Facilities
For events held off-site (camping, hikes, ValleyCats game, etc.), the relevant activity coordinator (Program Chair, Popcorn Coordinator, etc.) is responsible for reserving sites. The Committee Chair should be aware of and approve all facility reservations.
