Responsibilities: Deliver a quality, fun, year-round program (conducted according to BSA policies including the Guide to Safe Scouting) to the Pack Wear the Cub Scout leader uniform at Pack events Be familiar with Council and District Activities (including attending roundtables) Become acquainted with the Unit Commissioner and District Executive Carry out the Pack program with the support of the Committee, including leading monthly pack meetings, going camping and on hikes, and attending summer camp Work with the Committee to recruit adult leadership as well as Cub Scouts Work with the Committee to develop the budget Support the Den Leaders (including organizing and conducting Den Leader meetings) and encourage them to get the appropriate training Encourage the Den Leaders to work toward Cub Scout Leader awards Encourage Arrow of Lights to cross over to a Scouts BSA Troop Communicate with parents about the Pack program and help to educate them about the Cub Scout program Encourage family participation in the Cub Scout program Encourage the Pack to participate in service projects Work with the Assistant Cubmaster(s), delegating as necessary Attend and participate in Committee planning meetings Recruit Den Chiefs to assist the Den Leaders Incorporate traditional Scouting elements, such as flag ceremonies, skits, and songs, into the Pack program Encourage advancement and recognize Cub Scouts when they advance Stores Pack property as needed Committee Chairperson/Secretary (Gary Robbins / Robert Eden)

Responsibilities: Maintains a relationship with the chartered organization (the Executive Officer and Charter Organization Representative) to ensure that the Pack program meets the requirements of both the BSA and the charter organization Works with the Cubmaster on policy matters relating to Cub Scouting and the charter organization Chairs the Pack Committee meetings Annually recharters the Pack as well as complete the Journey to Excellence documentation Enters all service hours with Council for the Pack and dens Organizes the BSA Health forms for all scouts and adults in the Pack as well as BSA Activity Consent forms Stores Pack property as needed Maintains the Pack website and Facebook page Works with the Treasurer to develop a budget Delegates responsibilities to other adults in the Pack to ensure a quality Pack program Ensures that the positions of Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster are filled Ensures that every den has a Den Leader and an Assistant Den Leader Forms new dens as necessary, remembering that an optimum den size is 6 to 8 scouts Secures meeting facilities (space request forms for Glenmont Elementary Cafeteria and Gym) Ensures that all registered leaders have completed BSA Youth Protection Training Educates Pack families about the Cub Scout program Nurtures and maintains relationships with one or more Scouts BSA Troops in the area to ensure that Arrow of Lights have a smooth transition to the Scouts BSA program Supports the policies of the BSA Writes thank you letters to those who donate to the Pack Conducts and maintains the Pack Resource Survey Approves all Pack/Den Leader Awards Charter Organization Representative/Treasurer (Josh McWilliam)

Responsibilities: Maintains a relationship with the chartered organization (the Executive Officer) to ensure that the Pack program meets the requirements of both the BSA and the charter organization Supports the policies of the BSA Works with the Cubmaster on policy matters relating to Cub Scouting and the charter organization Signs all BSA Adult Applications Helps the Committee and Cubmaster establish a sound financial program for the Pack with a Pack budget plan. Maintains financial records as well as SEFCU and Paypal accounts and supervises the finances of the Popcorn sales. Approves all budget expenditures. Checks all disbursements against budget allowances and pays bills by check. The Committee Chair should approve bills before payment. Collects all dues, outing fees and “additional dues” for scouts who did not meet their targeted popcorn selling level Communicates to the Pack leaders/adults on preference on submission of receipts for reimbursement and how bank deposits are to be handled. Keeps a record of expenditures. Provides reimbursement as needed by Pack leaders and adults. Seeks and prepares grant applications for any large Pack purchase Ensures Pack purchases are exempt from New York sales tax Signs tax donation receipt forms Periodically reports on the Pack’s financial condition at the Committee meeting and/or Pack leaders’ meeting. Makes regular reports to the Pack Committee at the Committee meeting and/or Pack leaders’ meeting, and reports to the chartered organization as often as desirable on the financial condition of the pack.

Responsibilities: Gives leadership in carrying out the Pack program in the den. Leads the den in its participation at Pack meetings. Serve as den host or hostess for den family members at Pack meetings. Maintains a friendly relationship with Cub Scouts; encourage them to earn advancement awards. Keeps accurate advancement records, provides the advancement records to the Pack Advancement Chair and see that Cub Scouts receive recognition for their achievements. Stimulates the Cub Scouts’ imaginations on the den program theme for the month. Informs the Cubmaster if the den needs to perform an advancement activity at a Pack meeting or outing Helps establish a close working relationship with the assistant den leader and den chief Develops and maintains a good working relationship and open communication with den families. Uses their talents to help enrich the den program. Holds den adults’ meetings as often as needed to get acquainted with family members and strengthen the den operation. Sees that a leader is available for all den meetings and activities. Calls on the assistant den leader to fill in when necessary. Takes part in the annual Pack program planning conference and Pack leaders’ meetings. Keeps the Cubmaster and Pack committee informed on the status and needs of the den. Pack Public Relations Coordinator (Teresa Dalmata)

Responsibilities: Purchases and distributes Lego derby kits for Lions scouts and Pinewood derby kits for all other scouts as well as purchases trophies, plaques and/or medals Sets date for the race and procures the site for the derby Develops and distributes the rules for the Pack’s Pinewood Derby as well as the selection for the District Pinewood Derby Sets up and breaks down the Pack’s track as well as timing system Empanels the Judge panels for the Best in Show awards Manages the car check-in process Runs the Pack’s Pinewood Derby With the Committee Chair, arranges for year-round storage of the Pack’s track

Popcorn Kernels (Ben Friedman and Bob Pollock)

  • Minimum requirements = 21 years of age or older.
  • Required Trainings = Youth Protection Training, Pack Committee Challenge and Popcorn Kernel Training (if applicable)

Responsibilities: Attends kickoff and year-end wrap meetings Distributes sales materials to Scouts, explain rules, etc. Schedules Show and Sells with local merchants and schedule Scouts and parents to work Acquires Pack prizes and incentives Collects orders from Cub Scouts and turn in orders to District Office by due date Picks up and stores popcorn and distribute to scouts Collects money from Cub Scouts and turns it in to the Pack Treasurer Gets check from Pack Treasurer and turns in to District Office by due date
