To Pack 232 Cubmaster + campout leaders

I was reminded tonight at the Troop 75 Committee Meeting of the requirements for cub scouts participating in canoe activities at Thompson Lake.

Cubs need to have either passed their swim tests in the last year or be in the canoe with an adult who has. Those who passed it at summer camp this past year still count.

For those that have not passed the swim test in the past year, Troop 75 will likely be offering an opportunity to take it prior to Thompson Lake (details coming soon).

In addition, we must have a ratio of 1 leader to every 5 scouts that has taken the following training:

  • Safe Swim Defense - https://training.scouting.org/courses/SCO_801
  • Safety Afloat - https://training.scouting.org/courses/SCO_802

I have attached a report of those that have taken this training. It appears Kristen and I are the only ones that have completed both, so we likely need some others to take them. Bob and Mike have one of them done already.

If you are going to be at the campout and have the opportunity to take these, please do so.

I will follow up when I know the time of the swim test for any that might be interested in that. It will be in one of the nearby pools sometime in the next week and a half.

Thanks, Josh
