Pack 232 Parents,
We hope that everyone enjoyed our Pack meeting at Lawson Lake. It looked like the scouts had a lot of fun, caught a few fish, and had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful day.
Uniform Exchange
If you have any old and unused uniform shirts, hats, neckerchiefs, slides, etc, please bring them to the October Pack meeting. Your old items can be donated to our uniform exchange. Donated items will be available for anyone to use for the year. You do not need to donate in order to borrow.
Popcorn
Pack 232 gets virtually all of our funding through the annual popcorn fundraiser. Everyone should have received an email from our Popcorn Kernel Ben Friedman. If you have not received the popcorn email please let me know. There are currently a lot of available Storefront slots in the Trails End app. Please sign up for shifts! This year’s sale requirement is $300 per family with one scout and $450 per family with multiple scouts. If your family will be electing to forgo the popcorn sale and would like to make a direct donation to the Pack please let us know. One scout families that don’t participate will be asked to make a $100 donation and a $150 donation for multiple scout families.
Volunteer
The Pack is always looking for volunteers. We are currently looking to fill the following positions:
- New Member Coordinator
- Fundraising Chairperson
- Recruiting Chairperson
- Popcorn Kernel (2025)
- Assistant Cubmaster (2025)
Please let us know if you would like to volunteer or want more information about a specific position.
Upcoming Events
We have 2 events in early October that we want to bring your attention to. The Yankee Doodle District Hollywood Drive-In Camporee & the Pack 232 Family Campout. We ask that you please RSVP for both events on Scoutbook so we can plan accordingly. If you are not able to attend please RSVP NO.
Yankee Doodle District Hollywood Drive-In Camporee (Optional Event, Class B Uniform)
Saturday October 5-6, 2024 5:00pm Hollywood Drive-In 9270 NY Hwy 66, Averill Park, NY 12018
Join Pack 232 and spend the night at the Hollywood Drive-in. Check-in starts at 5pm, movies begin around 7pm. The concession stand will be open with dinner and snacks to purchase. The cost is $15 per person. Please RSVP on Scoutbook no later than 9/25. RSVPs made after 9/25 will be subject to a $5 late fee. Bring your own food or purchase at the drive-in, the Pack will not be providing food.
October Pack Meeting (Class A Uniform)

Join Pack 232 at our October Pack meeting! We will have a special guest presenter and finalize details for our upcoming Fall Campout.
Family Campout (Class B Uniform)
Saturday October 12-13, 2024 2:00pm-9:00am Van Etten Homestead 1412 Saw Mill Rd, Ravena NY 12143
We are very excited to hold a Pack 232 Family Campout at the Van Etten Household. The whole Pack is invited to attend this overnight camp out. Join us for camping, Scout craft & skills, cooking, games, and a campfire program. The cost is $10, payable at the 10/10/24 pack meeting. Please RSVP on Scoutbook no later than 10/4. In an effort to keep the cost low we will be asking participants to bring a side dish or snack to share. A signup genius will be sent out to those attending as we get closer to the event.
Our goal is to provide the Scouts and their families with an easy camping experience. This event is the perfect opportunity for any non-campers. While we encourage everyone to spend the night we understand that some participants may be more comfortable with not camping out and may choose to leave Saturday evening after our campfire. The cost for those attending for the day remains $10.
Peebles Island Family Hike (Class B Uniform)
Sunday October 20, 2024 10:00am Peebles Island State Park 1 Delaware Ave North, Cohoes, NY 12047
Weather permitting, please join the whole Pack for a fun family hike. We will be hiking the Red Loop for approximately 2 miles. Please make sure to dress appropriately and don’t forget the 6 essentials: first aid kit, water bottle, sun protection, snack, emergency whistle, & flashlight. We will meet in the parking lot.
