Pack 232 Parents,
Welcome back to Scouting! We are excited for the 2024/2025 Scouting year and are looking forward to some exciting activities this year.
We have attached our revised 2024-2025 Pack Calendar. Some dates and activities have changed. Additional event details will be posted to Scoutbook. Please check Scoutbook for the most up to date information.
Den Leaders will be contacting you regarding Den specific events/meetings. If you would like to help your Den Leader in planning or volunteering as an Assistant Den Leader please contact your Den Leader.
Summertime Adventures
Did your Scout attend summer camp or complete adventures at home this summer? If so, please send your Den Leaders an email with the adventures that your Scout earned so that they can be awarded at the September Pack meeting.
Membership Renewal
Starting on August 1, 2023 Scouting America updated their membership renewal process. All Scouts and Adult Leaders are now enrolled in a 12-month membership cycle. Youth and adults must renew their membership on/before the anniversary date of joining Scouting. Each enrolled member will receive an email notice with a registration renewal link 60 days before the anniversary month they joined Scouting.
Please make every effort to renew as soon as you receive the renewal email. Our insurance coverage is limited to active members. Members that do not renew may not appear in Scoutbook and may not be able to receive earned adventures.
Fundraising
Pack 232 subsidizes our activities with money raised through fundraisers. The dues that you pay go directly to Twin Rivers Council and Scouting America, Pack 232 does not receive any money from your membership dues. In an effort to keep your Scouting related expenses low we ask that you help us fundraise. Within the next few days you will be receiving information about our popcorn fundraiser. Please help to support the Pack and sell as much popcorn as you can!
Leadership is looking to add a few additional fundraisers this year. Any help you can offer is much appreciated. If you have a fundraising suggestion please let us know! We will be holding a fundraising meeting on 9/8/2024 at 8:00pm. If you are interested in volunteering for the fundraising committee please attend the virtual meeting.

Pack 232 maintains a digital presence on Facebook & Instagram. Pictures or videos of Scouts, Parents and Leaders are often featured in our posts. If you do not want your Scout to appear in any of these posts please complete the attached Social Media Opt-Out and return it to us.
Upcoming Events
September Pack Meeting / Fall Back to Scouting (Class B Uniform)
Sunday September 15, 2024 2:00pm-5:00pm Lawson Lake County Park 293 Lawson Lake Rd, Feura Bush, NY 12067 Flag Ceremony - AOLs
Our first meeting of the 2024-2025 scouting year will be at Lawson Lake County Park. The Pack has coordinated with the NYS DEC and our friends at Pack 23 (Delmar) to organize a free fishing day! No license is required. Scouts will be working on their rank specific fishing adventure. The whole family is invited to attend and are able to fish without a license. The Pack meeting is doubling as a recruiting event, please bring any friends that may be interested in Scouts.
Please bring a rod, tackle & some bait. There will be a limited number of loaner rods available. Please wear Class B uniforms, there is no need to get worm guts on the uniform!
Yankee Doodle District Hollywood Drive-In Camporee (Optional Event, Class B Uniform)
Saturday October 5-6, 2024 5:00pm Hollywood Drive-In 9270 NY Hwy 66, Averill Park, NY 12018
Join Pack 232 and spend the night at the Hollywood Drive-in. Check-in starts at 5pm, movies begin around 7pm. The concession stand will be open with dinner and snacks to purchase. The cost is $15 per person. Please RSVP on Scoutbook no later than 9/25. RSVPs made after 9/25 will be subject to a $5 late fee. Bring your own food or purchase at the drive-in, the Pack will not be providing food.
October Pack Meeting (Class A Uniform)

Join Pack 232 at our October Pack meeting! We will have a special guest presenter and finalize details for our upcoming Fall Campout.
Family Campout (Class B Uniform)
Saturday October 12-13, 2024 2:00pm-9:00am Van Etten Homestead 1412 Saw Mill Rd, Ravena NY 12143
We are very excited to hold a Pack 232 Family Campout at the Van Etten Household. The whole Pack is invited to attend this overnight camp out. Join us for camping, Scout craft & skills, cooking, games, and a campfire program. The cost is $10, payable at the 10/10/24 pack meeting. Please RSVP on Scoutbook no later than 10/4. In an effort to keep the cost low we will be asking participants to bring a side dish or snack to share. A signup genius will be sent out to those attending as we get closer to the event.
Our goal is to provide the Scouts and their families with an easy camping experience. This event is the perfect opportunity for any non-campers. While we encourage everyone to spend the night we understand that some participants may be more comfortable with not camping out and may choose to leave Saturday evening after our campfire. The cost for those attending for the day remains $10.
Peebles Island Family Hike (Class B Uniform)
Sunday October 20, 2024 10:00am Peebles Island State Park 1 Delaware Ave North, Cohoes, NY 12047
Weather permitting, please join the whole Pack for a fun family hike. We will be hiking the Red Loop for approximately 2 miles. Please make sure to dress appropriately and don’t forget the 6 essentials: first aid kit, water bottle, sun protection, snack, emergency whistle, & flashlight. We will meet in the parking lot.
