BALOO (optional…kind of – 9/22-9/23 @ Rotary Scout Reservation) – online AND classroom with one night of camping c. University of Scouting (Saturday, March 16 from 7:45am – 4:30pm at Shaker High School) d. Recognition Knot Awards e. Fort Orange District Roundtables f. Take photos/videos: i. Short-Term – Pack Site / Scouting Bethlehem Facebook site ii. Long-Term – Crossing over ceremony g. Special Awards: i. Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award ii. Emergency Preparedness Award iii. Scout Strong iv. STEM/NOVA II. Den Meetings/Outings Suggestions a. KISMIF = Keep it Simple, Make it Fun b. Get an Assistant/Co-Den Leader c. Get a Den Chief (Rob has asked for these from Troop 75) d. Buy the Den Leader Guide e. Buy the Advancement Chart f. Use a Good Conduct Candle g. Rotate the Denner/Assistant Denner position h. Have parents sign their scout’s scout manual and you sign their books too i. REMIND Parents/Guardians Again and Again and Again … i. Pack website ii. Emails iii. Texts j. If you Fail to Plan…You Plan to Fail: i. Annual Planning for den meetings ii. Schedule the Required/Elective Adventures by Month iii. Rotate among parents in your den the hosting/organization duties each month
- Know who your “best” parents are iv. Meeting Places – Library, Town Hall, den participant’s houses, church, other v. Outings – do something special at least once in the year (e.g. CMOST)

Cub Scout Pack 232 III. Fall Back to Scouting / Campfire Planning (Sunday, September 23 from 5pm-7pm at Five Rivers) a. Gathering Activity = Leaf rubbings? Pine cone birdfeeders? b. Announcement of Hiking Rules = buddies, no running, sticks and stones stay on the ground c. Hike on Trail (which one?) / Outdoor Bingo d. Refreshments – Have Pizza delivered, Dutch Oven Cooked Desserts, SMORES cones e. Used cub scout cap, neckerchief, slides and belts exchange f. Recognition – Presentation of Awards (leftovers from last year as well as summer camp) g. Campfire (I’ve asked for some volunteers from Troop 75 too) i. Song – Boom Chica Boom (Den Leaders) ii.
