SPORTSMART – BOY SCOUT TROOP 75
Boy Scout Troop 75 based in Delmar will hold its annual fundraiser, Sportsmart, on November 21, 2015 at the Bethlehem High School Cafeteria. This will be the 43rd year Troop 75 has held Sportsmart.
Sportsmart is an annual sale of all types of sporting goods, with an emphasis on winter sporting goods and equipment, such as skis, ski boots, snowboards, skates, snowshoes and hockey equipment. There are also plenty of other goods for sale, such as soccer cleats, golf clubs and bags, clothing, bikes, lacrosse and baseball gear.
The concept of Sportsmart is simple: the community can bring in their sporting goods for sale, set a price, and if the item sells, receive 2/3 of the sales price (the Troop receives 1/3 of the sales price). You may also donate items for sale. Additionally, you can just come in a shop for sporting goods – you do not have to bring goods in to sell. Further, the Troop has an outside vendor that supplies Sportsmart with new and used skis, snowboards, winter clothing and snowshoes, among other items.
The Schedule of Sportsmart is as follows:
8:30am – to 11:00am – The Community brings in their items to sell or donate.
1:00pm – 4:00pm – General Sale open to the public.
5:00pm – 6:00pm – Public can come back to pick up their items and checks for any items sold.
Sportsmart will also hold a silent auction and raffle for a number of great items/packages. The public is welcome to bid at our silent auction as well. Additionally, as a community service organization, Troop 75 will ask everyone who comes to Sportsmart for a minimum $1.00 dollar donation to the Regional Food Bank.
