Proposed email to Pack:

I hope everyone has been having a great summer. As we start looking toward the fall I wanted to provide an update on the upcoming popcorn fundraiser. This fundraiser provides almost all of the funds the Pack uses to operate through the year, so everyone’s participation is essential. We have done great with the fundraiser in past years, and need to continue that support to subsidize so many of the events the Pack enjoys.

Council has decided to switch back to Trail’s End for popcorn this year, so each scout will need to create a Trail’s End account. You will receive a Trail’s End email to create those accounts shortly, so please keep an eye out for that.

For all returning scouts (i.e., brand new scouts to Pack 232 do not have to fundraise), there is an expectation that a scout attends at least two Popcorn storefront “show & sell” time slots in September or October (with some possibly in November depending on how quickly we can sell the popcorn). Each time slot is approximately 2 hours and will be in various locations (Lowes, Stewarts, ACE Hardware). You will be able to sign up for time slots on the Trail’s End website with your account. Someone familiar with the storefront sales will be available to assist with each sale or walk you through the process, which is fairly simple.

Families can opt out for an additional dues amount: $120 for a single scout and $150 for families with multiple scouts. The Opt Out payment will be required in November with the annual dues payment.

Prizes:

  • Trail’s End will provide $10 Amazon gift cards for every 500 points earned ($1 of cash sales = 1 point, $1 of CC or online sales = 1.25 points)
  • Pack 232 will also provide a $10 Amazon gift card for each $250 of popcorn a scout sells
  • Any scout who participates in a Show & Sell gets 1 free Stewart’s ice cream cone certificate
  • All prizes will be distributed at the end of the popcorn selling season in the November timeframe
