Because we had a successful popcorn fundraiser, there will be only a minimal charge of $20 a person to defray some of the cost of the food and supplies for the weekend. A parent or guardian is required to accompany each Scout. If you have not paid, please go to the pack website at

and pay via PayPal!

Camp Wakpominee is a Boy Scout owned camp site. We will have 2 cabins: Gelder Hall (sleeps 40) and Thomas Lodge (sleeps 15). Both cabin are heated with wood stoves and have electricity. The cabins are located close to each other and near the lake. You will be able to unload at the cabin, but may need to park in a nearby lot. See attached camp map for the layout of the camp. There is not a lot of room to in these cabins, and everyone should be prepared to be outside as much as possible. It is Winter Camping, right? they are “latrines.”

Ii. Schedule

Below are some further details regarding the trip:

Arrival We can arrive at 6pm on Friday. If you cannot arrive on Friday night, please let Jim Maurer (518-852-4029), Peter Lauricella (518-391-0569), or another Dad know by text message or cell phone. Same thing if you are going to be more than 1 hour late. We are planning to have dinner (Pizza will be carted) and then the boys and Dads can play games (NO ELECTRONIC HAND-HELD GAMES [IPods, DS, GAME BOYS ETC.]) in their cabins. We probably also will have a movie in the Gelder Hall. Lights out 11:00pm.

Saturday Wake up, breakfast. Clean-up and be ready to go out by 9 or 9:30am. Games, hikes, sledding (helmets are required for sledding), hockey or skating on the Lake if the lake is sufficient frozen, possibly campfires, outdoor fun. Everyone is pretty much on their own, but try to STICK TOGETHER WITH OTHERS. We will try to organize a fairly large group to go on a hike around the lake. Also, if you would like, the camp has snowshoes to rent for $5. Campfire outside the cabin. Dinner. After dinner, we are likely going to do one big campfire with treats. We may also use this time to hold a very informal , and do some Scout requirements or electives to help the boys meet their scout achievements. Games, cards, etc. Lights out at 11:00pm.

Sunday Wake up, breakfast. Clean-up this is mandatory. No one can leave before clean-up is done. All garbage must be brought to a dumpster on-site. I may need a Dad or two that have trucks to help with the garbage. We must leave the place as we found it. As the Scout motto goes, . Most people leave after breakfast, although we have until 10:00am in the cabins. You are welcome to do more outdoor activities.
