- Poncho or Rain suit (Inexpensive Wal-Mart special works just fine in a pinch.)
- Insect repellent (No aerosol cans.)
- Sunscreen (No aerosol cans.) and Sunglasses

- Flashlight (check batteries and bring extras) (Headlamp works best but handheld is fine, too.)
- Mess Kit – (a plastic bowl, plate and cup, plus fork and spoon work just fine.)
- Water bottle (Plastic or metal; no glass.)
- Hooded Sweatshirt
- Wind Breaker
- Pocket Knife - Only cub scouts who have earned their whittling chip (Bears, Webelos, and Arrow of Light) may carry a pocket knife
- Socks x 2
- Underwear x2
- Short-sleeve shirt x2 (especially, the Pack 232 Class “B” T-shirt)

- Long pants or Sweatpants
